National Music Centre at Studio Bell
Studio Bell – home of the National Music Centre – is an icon of both the Calgary skyline and the Canadian musical scene. Home of the Music Hall of Fame, educational exhibits, studio and performance spaces, Studio Bell is Canada’s place for celebrating our musical heritage.
The rectilinear signage design and pylon materials act as a counterpoint to the building’s curves and architectural details without detracting from the vibrant and colourful exhibition spaces. The visual design direction expands on the Museum’s brand identity: five stacked lines that reference music notation. These elements informed large colour bands used throughout the signs and correspond to the five floors of the museum.
Cygnus provided Studio Bell with a complete donor program including prominent exterior signage, area/room level recognition, and a feature “hall of honour” donor wall to acknowledge contributions on an ongoing basis.
