In 2007, Cygnus was selected to design an interior wayfinding program to address an initial set of capital projects and account for expansion to new and existing buildings on campus.
Cygnus has acted as the University of Alberta’s Wayfinding Consultant of Record since 2007. Our team has managed planning, design and delivery management services for all campus projects with a combined implementation value over $600,000.
Directories, overhead signs and other major components are to be extendable such that adding rows or layers of information is seamless. Wall mount signage consists of multi-paneled, painted and baked aluminum components that secure to a common rigid base. Panels are “locked-in” to base, such only facility staff with a key or equivalent component can remove the panels. Graphics are computer-cut vinyl with digitally imaged inkjet details as required.
